Unearth the heart of the ancient New Forest
Tucked away...
You’re right in the heart of it at THE PIG, and within a short drive (or bicycle ride!) you’ll find stately homes, picturesque seaside towns and villages, wild horses and sailing. Being situated in the heart of the New Forest means there's plenty of the ancient woodland to explore on foot or bike, but there's still plenty to get up to at ours!
Wander through our flourishing kitchen gardens or kick back and relax over a glass (or two!), or why not even savour some al fresco dining courtesy of the wood-fired oven in the courtyard.
A gentle stroll down the gravel and brick path leads to further surprises tucked away in our garden! You’ll find our smoke house, Kitchen Garden, greenhouse, fruit cages and wild flower meadow orchard, as well as chickens and a paddock with our pigs!
Foraging in the New Forest with THE PIG’s expert forager!
The perfect time to try your hand at a spot of foraging is when you’re in the New Forest. If you're staying with us at THE PIG, come and join us and our local forager, Peter Studzinki, for a 2.5-3 hour course on all things foraging.
Where?
You will be taken on a walk through the New Forest for either some urban foraging, seashore foraging or wild mushroom hunting – depending on where is the best foraging spot that time of year! You will meet Peter at THE PIG, Brockenhurst, before heading to the forage location via your own transportation.
How much?
For 1-3 people, the course is priced at £240, however for groups of 4-6 the price will be £60 per person.

Please note: this is a bespoke course for guests staying with us at THE PIG. Bookings must be made in a minimum of 3 days in advance, there is a 48-hour cancellation policy in place, and we will ask for a deposit when you book.
