There’s something rather special about heading out from the hotel and finding the sea under your own steam. This gentle run winds through the quiet lanes of Harlyn before delivering you to the beach for a bracing dip in the Atlantic. Go at your own pace, enjoy the fresh Cornish air, and return feeling wonderfully restored.
Lace up and head out for a gentle coastal run before a well-earned dip in the sea. From THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, follow Harlyn Bay Road inland towards the village, before turning onto Trewerry Lane and winding through the quiet Cornish lanes that weave around Harlyn. Take your time to soak up the views across the surrounding countryside before looping back towards the coast.
The route covers approximately 2.5km, finishing at the golden sands of Harlyn Bay. Once there, take the plunge and enjoy a refreshing swim in the Atlantic before strolling back up to the hotel at your own pace.
If you'd like to warm up afterwards, our Reception team will be happy to provide towels and robes before you set off.
If you're looking for something a little longer to run, these two options are just right for you:
The Trevone 5k:
1.Leave the Map Room and head straight down the Residents' Driveway.
2.Take the public footpath opposite the hotel and cross the field to Sandy Lane in Harlyn.
3.Turn right and follow Sandy Lane until the main road.
4.Turn left and continue to Harlyn Bay.
5.Cross the bridge and head onto the beach,keeping left.
6.Take the steps on the right and follow the path left to join the Coast Path.
7.Follow the Coast Path all the way to Trevone, passing the tide pools and sheep fields.
8.Return by following the route in reverse.
The Trevose Head 5k:
1.Leave the Map Room and follow the Residents' Driveway.
2.Take the cut-through in the hedgerow on the left.
3.Turn left onto Harlyn Bay Road and continue to the T-junction.
4.Turn right and follow the road to Trevose Head.
5. Head back the way you came.
6.At the T-junction, turn left.
7.Look out for the cut-through back on your right.
