Walk for Wellbeing with Hospitality Action

Some of our wonderful PIG people are gearing up to take part in Hospitality Action’s Walk for Wellbeing event next month, and they would really appreciate your support!

Hospitality Action is a charity that we keep very close to our hearts. Run by hospitality people, for hospitality people, they help with the wide range of challenges those in the industry face — from physical illness and mental health struggles to financial difficulty, family problems, addiction, and more.

Hospitality Action helps people get back on their feet, and to support their vital work, our team will be using theirs! They’ll lace up their walking boots on Sunday 13th October to participate in this annual 20km walk, taking place across the country, to raise much-needed funds.

With mental health issues, the cost-of-living crisis, and fear of homelessness at an all-time high, the funds raised from Walk for Wellbeing will help:

  • Support the one in two people facing mental health challenges who contact Hospitality Action for help
  • Deliver in-person and over the phone counselling sessions
  • Provide emergency grants to help put food on the table

All participants will be fundraising for this incredible cause, while promoting the importance of wellbeing in hospitality—and boosting their own mental and physical wellbeing, walking just under half a marathon!

Timed to follow World Mental Health Day on 10th October, Walk for Wellbeing shines a light on mental health and wellbeing in hospitality. For those taking part, it’s also a chance to take a break from work, connect with colleagues, and meet others from our industry.

Since 2020, this industry-wide initiative has seen thousands of hospitality professionals across the UK take part, raising over £200,000 for Hospitality Action.
