Occasionally we have last-minute availability during the week and at weekends… why not pack up for an impromptu trip away?
Really a restaurant with rooms, we have an obsessive commitment to home-grown and local produce. What we can’t grow or rear ourselves, we source from the surrounding Sussex area, creating our 25-mile menu. Get away from it all with sink-in sofas, miles of countryside and coast to explore, locally-sourced suppers, Kitchen Garden wanderings, relaxing VOYA treatments in our rustic Potting Sheds and beds so cosy you won't want to leave!
Each PIG has its own unique identity and staying with us in the South Downs is no different. You’re right in the heart of it over here, with no short of things to do, surrounded by miles of unspoiled countryside, just four miles from the beautiful, ancient market town of Arundel with its medieval Castle and meandering streets, a short drive to the stunning Sussex coastline, and plenty of vineyards to pay a visit to!

The availability shown online for THE PIG-in the South Downs is live and always up-to-date. If you can’t find the date you’re after, please email reservations@thepighotel.com so we can add you to our waiting list.
However, it’s worth checking out our other properties as we may have rooms or tables available elsewhere.
THE PIG welcomes well-behaved dogs to stay in a small number of rooms across most of our hotels, excluding THE PIG-in the wall and THE PIG-on the beach*. We kindly ask owners to help us respect the sensitivities of all our guests and staff by asking you to follow our Dog House Rules to avoid ending up in the doghouse! To book a dog friendly room please email us at reservations@thepighotel.com or give us a call 0345 225 9494.
We do not permit dogs inside the restaurants, although they are welcome to join you on a stroll around the grounds or for outdoor dining when our terraces are open. Please note at THE PIG-in the wall we only permit guide dogs into the property.
Children are more than welcome at THE PIG-in the South Downs, both in the restaurant and to stay. At THE PIG-in the South Downs we have adjoining double and twin rooms.
We’ll never tell you what to wear. Our restaurant at THE PIG-in the South Downs is informal and relaxed, so come in whatever makes you happy and comfortable.
Breakfast: Available for residents from 7am-10am Monday to Sunday.
Lunch: 12pm-2.30pm Monday to Friday, 12pm-3pm Saturday and Sunday.
Dinner: 6pm-9.30pm Monday to Friday, 6pm-9.45pm Saturday and Sunday.
Outdoor eating: Outdoor eating on the restaurant terrace at THE PIG-in the South Downs is on a first-come first-served basis, weather dependent for restaurant guests only. If you would like to dine outdoors we advise booking a table during our first lunch sittings at 12 – 12.30 to secure a place in the sun. Please note the restaurant terrace is not bookable.

Unless we are running a special deal and it is stated within the terms, all of our rates are on a room only basis so are inclusive of VAT only.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant at THE PIG-in the South Downs where you can choose to either dig into our PIG grazing breakfast tables or pick something hot from our breakfast menus. Prices range from £17.95-£22.95.
You can check in from 3pm at THE PIG-in the South Downs, however, you’re more than welcome to arrive earlier to drop off your luggage and explore the gardens.
Check out is by 11am. We ask that you leave your room by this time, but please enjoy the surroundings all day. We can’t guarantee an early check-in or late check-out, but stick around and let us know your plans and we will try our best on the day.

All rates shown on our website, quoted over the phone, or provided through other means are subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse any booking for valid reasons. Our hotels offer various room types, with rates based on the number of occupants per room. Prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling, and all online payments will be processed in Pounds Sterling.
During peak seasons, bank holidays, and special events, certain rates may not be available, and some dates may require a minimum length of stay. Rates are subject to change without notice.
Our packages and pricing vary based on availability and demand. They include only the services and amenities specified in writing. Your price is guaranteed once you receive a confirmation number.
Some rate plans require full prepayment and are non-cancellable, non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-transferable. These conditions will be clearly stated in the rate description. We currently have eight 7KW Pod Point electrical charging points for vehicles at THE PIG-in the South Downs if you require charging during your visit. You will need to use the POD Point App to access the charger, and will be charged 75p per kWh of charge; overnight charging is required for full charge. Charging will require use of the Pod Point app and a registered account - this can be found at https://pod-point.com/products/driver/app. These POD charging points are fully compatible with all electric cars but please note you must bring your own charging lead. Once your car is fully charged we ask you move it to a regular parking space.

If you wish to have the option to cancel your room free of charge (up to 72 hours before arrival), we recommend booking one of our "Free Range" rates. Please email reservations@thepighotel.com if you need to amend your stay.
A late cancellation (within 72 hours of arrival or outside the defined cancellation policy of the rate booked) or a no-show (failing to arrive on the scheduled date) will result in a charge of one night's accommodation at the first night's rate of your booking. This charge will be applied to the credit or debit card provided during booking.
